Glass Slipper Gold Sandal : A worldwide Cinderella

Bibliography: Fleischman, P., & Paschkis, J. (2007). Glass slipper, gold sandal: a worldwide Cinderella. New York: Henry Holt and Co..

Annotation: This story is very similar to the traditional Cinderella story however the twists that reside in it is that it takes place in various countries. Each page is a different country and the illustrations are depicted from that culture. The story also begins with the young girl asks her dad to marry the lady at the end of the street. There is no specific names given to the characters besides the prince.

Genre: Fiction

Grade: K-4

Readers: Readers that enjoy culturally diverse books will enjoy this book. Readers that also enjoy reading different versions of Cinderella will enjoy this book as well.

Rate/Response: 10 I love the illustrations in this book. I also really enjoyed the use of many different cultures. This really allows young readers to be enriched by diverse cultures and their look on Cinderella.

Question: Do you think other cultures have the story Cinderella?
