Readers who will like this: Readers who enjoy biographies about musicians, music and picture with movement will enjoy this book.
Response/Rating (1-4): I rate this book a 4! The text in this book is lyrical and moves like the score of an upbeat swing dance melody! The illustrations are full of color, movement and emotion. This is another great book to use as a resource for a lesson.
One question you would ask before a read aloud: Who can tell me what 'ragtime' music is? Or jazz? Or Swing dance? How many of you are taking musical instrument lessons?
