Beauty and the Beast

Bibliographic Information: McCaughrean, G. (2000). Beauty and the Beast. Gary Blythe. New York, New York: Carolrhoda Books.
Brief Annotation: This is the classic Beauty and the Beast tale takes a somewhat modern take with illustrations. It is the classic story of Beauty falling in love with the Beast's personality and then when she tells him she loves him, he turns into a prince.
Genre: Folktale
Grade Level: 2-4
Readers who will like this: Readers who like fairytales.
Response/Rating (1-4): 2. This was a good story with some minor differences from the original Beauty and the Beast. But still holds the classic, don't judge a book by it's cover cliche.
One question you would ask before a read aloud: Have you ever judged a book by it's cover?
