Sheila Rae the Brave

Henkes, K. (1996). Sheila Rae the Brave. New York, New York: Harper Collins Publishers.

Brief Annotation: Sheila Rae is very brave and she knows it. She is not afraid of anything scary and is proud to tell everyone that will listen. One day she wanted to walk home a new way to show her bravery but her sister Louise refuses to go with her. She then finds herself lost and not so brave any more. It is up to her sister to find her and show she is okay after all.

Genre: Animal Fantasy

Grade Level: K-3

Response/Rating: 3; A really cute story and another job well done by Kevin Henkes. I can't get enough of his books!
