The Hat

Brett, J. (1997). The Hat. Illus. Jan Brett. New York, NY: G.P. Putman's Son's

Annotation: Lisa hangs her clothes out on the clothes line one day and her wool stocking flies away in the windy air. Then, a curious little hedgehog comes across the stocking and gets stuck in it. Many of the farm animals make fun of him because he looks silly. But, in response he tells the animals that it is a warm and cozy hat that will keep him warm from the snow. Little did he know that the other animals liked the idea and decided they wanted clothes to keep them warn as well. Silly animals! They don't wear clothes.
