Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig

Trivizas, E. (1997). The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig. Illus. Helen Oxenbury. New York, New York: McElderry Books.

Brief Annotation: Three little wolves have a mother who decides it is time for them to get houses of their own. She warns them of the danger of the big bad pig and be careful not to cross him. When he goes after their houses they have to out smart him so he doesn't destroy the last house. They buy flowers from a flamingo and make the house out of it to see if that will do the trick.

Genre: Animal Fantasy

Grade Level: 2-4

Readers who will like this: Someone who would like a complete opposite twist on such a classic story.

Response/Rating: 4; I thought this book was very clever to make the classic characters change places to retell a story. It was a very good book and i recommend everyone to read this one.

Question: Does anyone know the original story of the three little pigs?
