Time To Sleep Sheep the Sheep

Bibliography: Willems, M. (2010). Time to Sleep Sheep the Sheep. New York, NY; HarperCollins Publishers
Brief Annotation: In this Cat the Cat book, cat is going around telling all the animals that it is time to go to sleep. When she runs into the owl, she doesn't tell him to sleep since he stays awake at night. At the end of the story, the owl is now bored "checkers anyone?".
Genre: Picture book, Animal Fiction
Grade Level: Pre-K-Kindergarten
Readers who will like this: Children who are just starting to learn to read and who might have trouble going to sleep at night without a good story like this!
Response/Rating: I would give this book a 3 because though it was a fast read, it teaches children about animals that go to bed and those that do not, which is valuable. Definitley a good bedtime read!
One question to ask before a read-aloud: Did you ever wonder what animals go to bed at night? Did you know that there are animals that DON'T go to sleep at night?
