Chicka Chicka 1 2 3

Martin, B. (2004). Chicka Chicka 1 2 3. Illus. Lois Ehlert. New York, New York: Simon & Schuster.

Brief Annotation: One hundred and one numbers climb up an apple tree together for fun. Bees are there and are threatening the poor numbers and it is up to one of them to save them all. A surprising number at the end teaches they really are not a zero afterall.

Genre: Fiction counting book

Grade Level: K

Readers who will like this: Beginner readers who are learning how to count and are looking for a fun way to do so.

Response/Rating: 4; I love these books and I think it is a very clever way to teach counting while children read it.

Question: How high up can you count to?
