Annotations: A little girl named Ria moves to NYC with her family. At first it is a hard transition, she then discovers many things about the new city she lives in. Her babysitter introduces her to a celebration called St. Francis Day. It is a day for animals to be blessed in a church. Mrs. B the babysitter gives Ria the chance to celebrate, although she doesn't have an animal to bless.

Grade: K-3

Genre: Historical Fiction, Picture Book

Readers who will like this book: Any readers that enjoy celebrations, holidays, or festivals. It is fun for kids who have moved away in to a new city as well.

Rate/Response: 3-It is a sweet story about how one's life changes when they move. It gives the reader a chance to experience a celebration in a different culture and city.
