The Christmas Magic

Thomson, L.(2009). The Christmas Magic. Jon Muth. New York, New York: Scholastic Press

Annotations: The Christmas Spirit is in the air and Santa is getting ready to deliver presents to all the boys and girls on Christmas Eve. Santa goes through his routine before he must deliver to all the good kids in the world. He checks his list, feeds the reindeer, and uses his Christmas magic for the special time of year.

Grade Level: K-5

Genre: Fantasy, Folklore

Readers who will like this book: Anyone who believes in the Christmas Spirit. It is a cheerful book for the holidays....depending on what religion you believe in.

Rating and Response: (4) The watercolor illustrations are beautiful and magical at the same time. I liked how Santa's outfit wasn't the traditional red one he usually wears in stories.

Questions: Have you been a good kid this year?
