Bibliography: Stead, Philip C. (2010). A Sick Day for Amos McGee. Erin E. Stead. New York, NY: Roaring Brook Press.
Brief Annotation: Amos McGee has many responsibilities at the zoo, but the most important and fun would be visiting all of his friends. When Amos becomes sick and can’t go to work how will he see his friends?
Genre: Picture book, Fiction, Animal fiction
Grade Level: K-3
Readers who will like this: Children who like animal picture books, children who like the zoo.
Response/Rating (1-4): 4; I LOVE THIS BOOK. Quite possibly one of my favorite picture books. It’s so sweet and the illustrations are beautiful.
One question you would ask before a read aloud: Have you ever been sick and had to miss school? Did you miss seeing your friends?
