Baby Animals 1,2,3

Bibliography: Knox, B. (2003). Baby Animals 1,2,3. Mankato, MN. Capstone Press.
Annotation: This book counts the numbers 1-10 throughout using baby animals! Each animal has their number by them, depending on how many there are, and then there are facts by each of the animal groups about who they interact with and how they are cared for.
Genre: Counting picturebook
Grade Level: Pre-K to Kindergarten
Readers who will like this: Children around 4-5 years old who are just learning to count. Also anyone who enjoys looking at pictures of baby animals the way I do! :)
Response/Rating: I would give this book a 4 because I think it engages children really well by showing pictures of animals that they can identify. So they are counting and identifying animal names as well. The factual information is also enriching for young children.
On question to ask before a read-aloud: How many of you have seen baby animals before? Where do you usually see baby animals?
