Brief Annotation: The character of Death tells a story of a girl named Leisel and how he recalls he love for books. Set in the time of Nazis and concentration camps Leisel finds comfort in the lose of her family by stealing books and her foster father teaches he to read and write. She then discovers her foster family is hiding a Jew in thier basement and no one can ever know. She developes an unlikely bound with this stranger and discovers the evils going on around her and the war.

Readers who will like this: Readers who like to read book set in war times and historical fiction lovers.
Response/Rating: 4; One of the best novels I have read in a long time and I admit I cried so many times and got very caught up with the stories and characters.
