Shrek!

Bibliography: Steig, William. Shrek!. New York: Farrar, Straus, Giroux, 1990

Annotation: Shrek gets kicked out of his parent’s home and is on his way to find out where to go. He meets a witch that tells him his future. He finds a donkey that leads him to a castle. Shrek then battles a knight and falls in love with a princess that is uglier than he is.

Genre: Fantasy

Grade Level: k-4

Readers: Children that like rhythms and children who prefer other interest to others.

Rating: 8 I love this book. I think it is very fun and playful for children. I love the rhythms that you normally would not see a children’s book. There is one line with inappropriate language that would have to be censored when reading to the children.

Question: What makes you different? Has anyone said you were ugly?
