Annotation: Abel’s Island is a story about Able and his wife Amanda enjoying each others company when suddenly a horrible storm comes along. Able ventures out to retrieve Amanda’s scarf when he gets swept down the river. For a whole year able is stranded on an island and while on his journey home he encounters a vast amount of challenges but is determined about getting home to see is lovely wife Amanda.

Readers: Children who are just starting to read chapter books. One’s who love adventure and suspense. I would also say the girls for the love story and boys for the outdoors, adventure, hiking and nature aspect. Overall I believe most young children would like this book.
Rate/Response: 9 I loved this story as well. I thought it was a very cute story for young kids and I feel this would be an excellent first chapter book for some students. I loved how heartwarming the story was and that it had a happy ending.
