Readers who would like this: Anyone who likes books about animals, adventure, and survival. Anyone who likes being outdoors in nature would also enjoy this book.
Rating/Response: Out of 4 I would give this book a 3 because it is a wonderful book that teaches valuable lessons on survival and determination. I was hoping for more character interaction, since much of what I read was spoken by the author on Abel's survival on the island.
One question you would ask before a read-aloud: If you were stranded on an island, what would you do? Would you try some of the same things that Abel tried in the story?
