Bibliography: Storynory. (n.d.). Helen of Troy - Storynory free audio story. Storynory, Free Audio Stories for Kids. Retrieved December 12, 2011, from http://storynory.com/2006/08/20/helen-of-troy

Annotation: A wedding was planned between Thetis and Peleus. All of the Gods and Goddesses were invited to the wedding except Eris the goddess of strife. Eris through into the wedding an apple and upon the apple was a marking that exclaimed “for the fairest of them all”. This began a feud between Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena. The women were feuding and explaining their reason to receive the apple until Zeus became very annoyed. Zeus then sends Hermes to Pairs and tells him to pick the fairest of them all. Athena offered him the gift of wisdom, Hera offered him power, and Aphrodite offered him the most beautiful woman in the world. Paris gave the apple to Aphrodite and set sail for Sparta to retrieve Helen from King Menelaus. That night Helen placed a poison in the wine that made men forget their desires and Paris asked her to meet him near the ship. She did this unwillingly because of Aphrodite. King Menelaus awoke the next morning with his wife gone. The attack for Troy began and launched a thousand ships.

Rate/Response: 8 I really enjoy Greek mythology and the various stories that they share. I chose this one because I love the story line and the feud between Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite. I do wish however that there were pictures with the story.

Question: Do you know who the Helen of Troy is? What do you know about Greek Mythology?
